Caroline Batts

University of North Carolina – Greensboro

Caroline Batts is a Cox Mill High School graduate that currently resides in Concord, North Carolina. She will be continuing her education at the University of North Carolina Greensboro, with her focus being in Marketing. She has a passion for theatre and would like to utilize marketing as a way to expand funding for the Performing Arts.

Claire Alexandra Masonis

Nursing, BS

University of North Carolina

Claire Masonis is a rising sophomore at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She plans to attend the UNC School of Nursing and graduate with a Health and Society minor. Claire is devoted to serving society, specifically pediatric patients and their families, both in the hematology and oncology unit and as a future neonatal intensive care unit nurse.

Brandon James Cericola

Music Production, BA

Elon University

Brandon Cericola is a graduate of Cox Mill High School and will be attending Elon University in the fall. During high school, he was a leader in the workforce and marching band. At Elon, he plans to double major in Music Production and Recording Arts as well as Cinema and Television Arts. He plans to do Music Production for Multimedia post college.

Phoebe Brannan

International Business, BA

University of California – Los Angeles

Phoebe Brannan is a graduate of Providence Day High School, where she was a leader in Model UN and Mock Trial, as well as volunteering with the Rotary Club of Charlotte. She will be attending the University of Southern California, to study international business in preparation for attending law school.

Matthew Ejakov

Engineering, BS

University of Michigan - Ann Arbor

Matthew Ejakov is attending the University of Michigan to major in Mechanical Engineering. As a student in the Divine Child High School Class of 2021, he sought opportunities to design systems to help others, such as a website to aid visually impaired students with test taking. Throughout his college experience and into his career he will continue using his skills to create devices that solve problems facing individuals and communities.

CJ Miller

Philosophy (Morality, Politics, Law), BA

Arizona State University

A graduate of Blue Springs South High School in Blue Springs, MO, CJ Miller will be attending Arizona State University to major in Philosophy with a focus on Morality, Politics, and Law, with the hopes of attending law school. CJ’s choice of study is strongly based on his passion for politics. CJ’s career goal is to become either a civil rights lawyer or a workers' rights lawyer.

Katelyn Ward

Radiologic Science, BS

Avila University

Katelyn will be attending Avila University and plans to major in Radiologic Science with a minor in Biology. Building on her success in competitive athletics in high school, Katelyn plans to continue playing basketball at Avila University. She is also looking forward to continuing to pursue her interest in music.

Nicholas Brannan

BSBA Business Administration

University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill

A 2020 graduate of Providence Day School in Charlotte, Nick Brannan is also involved with the diabetic community. Since his diagnosis of Type 1 Diabetes at age 5, he has spent his time advocating for diabetes awareness and fundraising to find a cure. He plans to continue his work throughout college, as well as pursuing intramural sports and student government.

Faith Falgiano

Media Arts Production (MAP)

Ohio University – Columbus

Faith is majoring in Media Production at Ohio University. She plans to create an inclusive dialogue which accurately represents a diverse group of individuals and their stories, and also hopes to further her knowledge of cinema. A graduate of Worthington Kilbourne High School in Columbus, she hopes to continue drawing attention to the growing divide among today's high school students and their backgrounds.

Christy Ma

BS Physics

University of California – Los Angeles

Christy is attending UCLA with a major in Physics. She graduated Northwest Guilford High. After college, she plans to continue studying physics in graduate school, and hopes to become a professor in order to share her passion. She hopes to spark the same passion and curiosity in others, and contribute towards a better understanding of the world we live in.

Christa Johnson

BA Music and Psychology

Evangel University

Christa is attending Evangel University in Springfield, MO in order to major in Music and Psychology with a minor in Social Work. She is a graduate of William Chrisman High School. She is the youngest of five by a minute and she was raised by a single mother. After college, she plans to pursue a graduate degree in Music Therapy from Drury University. She seeks to encourage positivity and hope throughout the world, and help people struggling mental illness through the power of music.

Mariama Barry

MPS Sports Industry Management

Georgetown University

Mariama is a Masters in Professional Studies candidate for Sports Industry Management at Georgetown University. She graduated from Georgetown in 2019 with a BA in Psychology and a minor in African American Studies. Post-graduation, she plans to work in the sports industry helping both intercollegiate athletes who don't go pro, and young professional athletes who are just entering the league. Mariama wishes to impact others by living her own favorite Jesuit value of Cura Personalis, care for the whole person.

D'Angelo Talbot

BFA Vocal Performance

Wichita State University

D'Angelo is a Sophomore majoring in Vocal Performance/ Opera at Wichita State University. He is a class of 2018 alumnus of Fort Osage High School. He plans to continue his studies at the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University and, in time, perform opera with the Kansas City Lyric, Santa Fe, and San Francisco symphonies. D'Angelo is the eldest of 14 children, and the first in his family to go to an out-of-state university.
